Osler's node

Etiology: - characteristic of subacute bacterial endocarditis - Streptococcus viridans Pathology: - composed of microabscesses & immune complex deposition in the papillary dermis, together with microemboli in the nearby dermal arterioles, Clinical manifestations: - tender (painful) cutaneous lesions, - small raised & discolored lesions usually appearing on the pads of the fingers or toes * image [2] Differential diagnosis: - Janeway lesions are macular & not painful
